The Story

App Screenshot Maker was created by Daniil Mukashev (Dan), a solo indie app developer and the person behind dan1sland Productions. Like a lot of indie developers, Dan wore every hat: coding, design, marketing, localization, and customer support. But one task ate an outsized share of his time every single release cycle: screenshots.

Every time he shipped an update, he would open Figma, painstakingly position each new screenshot inside a device frame, tweak the caption text, adjust the background gradient, and export. For a single language that already took four to six hours. Then multiply that by 40+ localizations and the math became brutal. An entire week of work for assets that had nothing to do with writing better code or improving the app itself.

The first version of App Screenshot Maker was a weekend hack. Dan built a bare-bones web tool that could drop a screenshot into a device frame, overlay a headline, and spit out a correctly sized PNG. It was rough, but it already cut his screenshot time from hours down to minutes. He shared it with a few developer friends, got feedback, and kept iterating: adding templates, better device frames, localization support, and cinematic 3D renders.

What started as a personal itch is now used by thousands of developers worldwide — from solo indie hackers shipping their first app, to small agencies managing client portfolios, to growing teams that need to keep dozens of listings fresh across every app store.

The Mission

Our mission is straightforward: make professional app store screenshots accessible to every developer, regardless of design skills or budget. Beautiful, conversion-optimized App Store and Google Play screenshots should not require a design degree, an expensive agency, or a week lost inside a general-purpose design tool.

We believe that great apps deserve a great first impression. Your screenshots are the very first thing a potential user sees on the store page, and they directly affect whether someone taps "Get" or keeps scrolling.
